Overview

If you do not have enough time to do the classic Inca Trail this is one of the best option where you can observe flora and fauna including the variety of orchids and birds typical of the area, also fill you with a lot of culture, history and especially the majestic view of the mountains surrounding the Inca citadel of Machupicchu.

Itinerary

Short Inka Trail Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco-km 104 (chachabamba)

This day we start with the pick up from your hotel between 3:30 to 4:00 am, to go to Ollantaytambo train station where we can board the 6:30am train to kilometer 104, the beginning of the trek.

We will go through the first control and then visit the first archaeological side of chachabamba where you will have a respective information of the place, then we will start with an ascent of about three hours approximately to the archaeological side of wiñayhuayna (forever young) where the guide will give you the proper information of the place.

Then, we will continue walking for 1:30 (4km) to the inti punku (sun gate) where we will have the first view of the Inca citadel of Machupicchu, that day we will pass through Machupicchu and we can take our classic photo, then we will go by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have your accommodation in a hotel and the last dinner in a restaurant.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes-Machupicchu-Cusco

This day we will go up by bus or walking very early in the morning to Machupicchu where you will have a tour with the guide for about 2 hours approx.

After the visit we go to the town of Aguas Calientes to board the train that will take us to the train station of Ollantaytambo and then continue by bus to the city of Cusco.
